The Explorer
Now only 22 years old (or just 0.089 on Pluto), Verónica Sofia Marcos Fradique was born in a small town called Apúlia. She is in Porto to attend the Master in Informatics and Computing Engineering at FEUP.
Background
Practicing volleyball and athletics, our technology developer is also featured in Orienteering, a sporting modality in which she has been in two world competitions in 2013 and 2015. Still in high school, Verónica participated in the Comenius project in Estonia.
On her journey, she has already had the opportunity to teach programming to kids! In 2015 she joined MIEIC, a master's degree that, according to Verónica, "is an area with enormous potential and gives us the freedom to create and improve people's lives!"
Aboard Starlight Software
Veronica was asked to join the Quality Mission, which aims to develop an android application for Bosch. She is one of the responsible for the frontend of the project and she is contributing to the team with her calm and assertive profile, thus cooperating in the progress of the works.
To the future
With an entrepreneurial vocation, Veronica wants to have her own company, in which she can go beyond software development. She says: "My dream career will start by working in an area where I feel happy and as soon as I feel prepared, go out and create something new, on my own!
To her 10-year-old self, she would say to "make the most of every moment and every opportunity, since it's all so fleeting!"
To the students who are entering the labor market, she advises to "choose something to identify with, both at company level (their objective and their mission) and at the level of their own work — since your happiness and well-being is above everything!"
